The Government prepares a specific plan for describing the possibilities of the renewable energies in Menorca

The economic|economical vice president, of Entrepreneurial Promotion and of Employment|Occupation, Josep Ignasi Aguiló, it|he|she has announced today that the Government, in accordance with the Council|Piece of Advice of Menorca, has started the writing of a specific plan that it|he|she has to allow to describe the real possibilities of implantation of renewable energies in the island, while considering the territorial structure, the potentials of sun and of wind, the technologies available, consolidated and emergent, with the objective that, as a reservation|booking of the biosphere, uses its|his|her|their capacities to the utmost of exploitation of clean energies.

Aguiló has made these declarations in the course of its|his|her|their visit to Menorca, during which it|he|she has made an itinerary for two of the instal•lacions of more important renewable energies of the island, the photovoltaic park of His|Her Salomó, in Ciutadella, and of the wind farm of Him Milan, in Maó.

On the part of the Government the autonomic secretary of Entrepreneurial Promotion and Employment|Occupation, Lourdes Cardona, and the general director of Industry and Energy, Jaume Ochogavía, has also attended it; while part of the Council|Piece of Advice of Menorca they have taken part there the counselor of Economy|Economics, Environment and Hunting, Fernando Villalonga,  and the president of the Insular Council|Piece of Advice, Santiago Tadeo, who has added himself to the visit to the second instal•lació.

During its|his|her|their visit, the vice president has known the functioning|operation of the park of His|Her Salomó, the frugal rimer processed in Balears, that it|he|she highlights also for having constructed respecting and, even, improving the environment: dry walls, shacks of stone, etc.

The power instal•lada is of 3.000 kW, and its|his|her|their production the year 2011 was of of the odre of 7.200 MWh, which 1,5% of the electrical consumption of the island of Menorca, and 5% of that of Ciutadella represents.

At present the property|estate is working the photovoltaic technology in a new project, innovative, in|to where it is wanted to combine with the accumulation of energy with sea water and the production of hydrogen, probably the fuel of the future.

Later, he|she|it has moved to Maó to know the park of Him Milan.  It is a matter of the only wind farm of Balears, promoted initially by the Government of the Balearic Islands and finely executed by the Council|Piece of Advice of Menorca. Lately the system of control and management|formality of the Park has been remodeled completely, which has allowed to increase the production of the park very considerably, and consequently its|his|her|their results of exploitation.

The power instal•lada is 3.200 kW, and its|his|her|their production in year 2011 was 5.700 MWh, which represents 1,1% of the electrical consumption of the island of Menorca, and 4% of that of Maó.

Apart from these two parks in Sant Lluís there is one another park, of 1.000 kW of power and a production of 1.250 MWh. Moreover, in Menorca there is instal•lats other 340 kW of photovoltaic energy distributed in 22 small instal•lacions.
